Cloth Diaper Experiments for Next to Nothing

Jillian's drawers cloth diaper 21 day trial
  • What: Cloth Diaper Trial
  • When: Birth or anytime during diapering
  • Why: Test out different brands and styles
  • Where: Jillian’s Drawers

If you hesitate to take the cloth diaper plunge, check out Jillian’s Drawers Changing Diapers, Changing Minds program. For $10, you get to try various types of cloth diapers with zero commitment.

Here’s how it works: You sign up and pay $98. You get a shipment of cloth diapers, and use them for 21 days (starting the day they arrive at your home). After 21 days, you send them back and get a refund of $88. So for $10 out of pocket, you experiment with brand new diapers and decide what works for you. Even if nothing works and you send the entire package back stained, you get your money back, so you only risk finding a better diaper solution.

Each trial contains something equivalent to these selections.

Each trial shipment contains two kinds of prefolds, a Snappi fastener, and a Thirsties cover. (More about why Thirsties is my favorite brand.) You also receive two brands of pocket diapers with inserts, and two brands of all-in-one diapers. (Not sure about the difference? Read more here.) Many times the diapers come with flushable inserts to try as well. Don’t worry. You don’t have to return those to get your money back.

You do pay the shipping to return the package at the end of the 21 days. But you receive free shipping on your next orders, at which point you presumably know what you like. You can also choose to keep some or even all of the cloth diapers you used in your trial.

Trials come in sizes from newborn to 32 lbs, so it’s never too early or late to give cloth a try. For each size, you can order in boy, girl, or neutral colors.

You can also customize your trial with specific brands if there’s something you want to try. The cost can vary by up to $5 if you choose to do that, but $15 is still much lower than buying even one of some types of cloth diapers.

If you’ve toyed with the idea of cloth diapers or still want to convince your significant other to give cloth a chance, this program could be the answer. But don’t take my word for it. Check Jillian’s Drawers LINK to see all the rave reviews.
