Still looking to get more use out of toys you already own? Encourage your kids to combine some of the more popular building sets, like Lego and Gears! Gears! Gears!.
Lego Duplo My First Carousel Set on Amazon
Spread out a batch of gears with Lego of any size. Whether you want to try Duplo for younger kids, or regular little Lego for older ones, kids can get really creative without breaking the bank. Adding movement to Lego without buying special sets or pieces is a great way to see if your child likes the idea of making their creations go without busting the bank.

Although we have a working Lego ski lift, my kids took it one step further and built their own. They used gears and supports from Gears! Gears! Gears! and added Lego figurines for the riders. They’ve also built pulleys from gears to lift Lego creations.

No matter what your kids imagine, the combinations are nearly endless. If you want even more possibilities, look for the Duplo My First Carousel, which allows kids to connect their Duplo bricks directly to their gears. If you want to go all out, you can buy this STEAM Park Building Set
intended for preschool teachers. Make the cost more affordable by splitting it with another family and doling out the various pieces.
