The Magic School Bus book series covers a wide range of science topics in ways kids can understand. It provides detailed, accurate answers to questions like how does rain get into the clouds, and what makes a volcano erupt.
These text-heavy picture books work well for older preschoolers and early elementary aged kids. Even if you child doesn’t like science, they can enjoy the fantastical field trips Ms Frizzle’s elementary school class takes, from a trip inside the human body to traveling in time on a visit with dinosaurs. When reading aloud, you can stick to the main story text, or include all the sidebar information, which can lengthen the reading (and learning!) time accordingly.
