September saw kids heading back to school (in person!), long holiday weekends, and the last days of summer leading into autumn. Meanwhile here at Practically Apparent, readers near and far had some new favorites in this month’s most popular posts.

Battleship Shots Game: This simple game puts a new spin on an old classic, and levels the playing field, or should we say the battlefield, for all ages. Players set up their boats wherever they like on their side of the board. While the opposing side can see the placements in this version, the twist makes all the difference. Instead of guessing the location, players take turns trying to toss or bounce ping pong-type balls into each boat to sink it. The first player to sink all their opponent’s ships wins.

Packing Spare Clothes: It turns out kids who have dry clothes come home a lot happier than wet, cold kids. No matter your child’s age, it never hurts to have some spares handy just in case.  If you have to pack spare clothes for your child at school or anywhere else, try these handy tips.
