This time, Proper must journey to the underworld with Alastor as his guide to save his sister, trapped in the Tower of No Return. But they get more than they expected with the underworld turned upside down and the rules changing every day. Will Prosper be able to save his sister? Will Alastor turn out to be the lesser evil? Find out for yourself with this page-turning fantasy novel geared towards middle school kids.

We read the first book out loud all together, but my kids couldn’t wait that long for this installment. We checked the second book out of the library one afternoon, and my eleven year old had it finished before dinner. By bedtime, he was well into his second reading. If you want to find out how the tale of the Redding family fortunes ends, you’ll have to pry this book out of your child’s hands and read it yourself.
