We love LUSH products. Not only does this company minimize packaging and preservatives, but they use fresh vegetarian ingredients. I’ve loved LUSH since long before my kids arrived on the scene. But only in the last year or so did it occur to me to introduce my kids to one of my favorite brands.

My twelve year old son choose this UFO bath bomb.

My kids have used LUSH bath bombs and bubble bars for ages. But I always did the shopping, typically without them in tow, as an indulgence for myself. Meanwhile I chose only the safest products for my kids’ soap, shampoo, and sunscreen. Now that my kids handle their own baths, showers, and general hygiene, I thought they might enjoy making their own selections.

All three of my kids choose the rainbow bath clay soap, like the orange portion seen here.

Boy, was I right. I took all three kids to the LUSH store and let them loose. Each kid got to choose three products for themselves: a shampoo, a soap, and a bonus item, like a bath bomb or lotion. LUSH proved to be a terrific experience for my kids, too. The shop assistants gave each of them a tiny pot of lotion to take home at no cost. And they loved the hands-on demonstrations of products. Touching and smelling the different scents let them choose ones they liked. And seeing the giant blocks of soap (and smelling those, too) provided educational information I hadn’t anticipated. Be aware, your kids might spend longer than you anticipate checking out all the options.

As an added bonus, all my kids still use their items more than six months later. From the shampoo bar to the rainbow clay-like soap that indulges almost all the senses, these products last. I will definitely take my kids back when they need a refresh. Can’t get to a store? You can also order online. But if you have a store near you, or anywhere along your summer travels, stop by with your kids and see what delights them.
