Have you heard of Worldle? No, not the daily word game that is all the rage – the geography game with a similar setup. Whether you want to increase your child’s geographic knowledge, keep them learning while playing this summer, or play a quick game the entire family can enjoy, give Wordle a try.

This geography-based online game takes only a few minutes to play. Each dayhighlights a different country. The game shows you the outline of the country filled in with black. You guess the country based on its shape. Get it right in six tries or less to win the game.

After each guess, the game will display a distance and direction for the correct answer. The direction arrow points one of eight ways: up, right, down, left, upper right, lower right, lower left, or upper left. Use those clues along with the distance (measured in kilometers) to narrow down your choices.

Once you finish guessing, you can continue with bonus rounds. Five bonus rounds give kids lots of opportunities to expand their knowledge. The first one has players guess the neighboring countries. The number of countries varies, as does the number of guesses you get to name them all. In the second bonus round, you choose the capital from a list of cities. The third bonus round lets you select the country’s flag from eight options, while the final round has you choose the population and currency from a multiple choice list.

This game works great any time of the year, but especially leading up to the Olympics or any other worldwide event with lots of countries represented. It also pairs well with a map so kids can practice their search and find skills to locate the correct country.
If you want some educational fun for all ages, get your game on with the daily dose of Worldle.
