Hello, Star Wars fans! It’s been a while since we’ve featured our favorite Star Wars items for kids. That’s not because our kids love Star Wars any less. In fact, we now have two young enthusiasts in residence. But we had forgotten about the Flight of the Falcon, a series of chapter books featuring one of Star Wars’ most iconic ships.
These chapter books written especially for kids feature the adventures of the Millennium Falcon. Each book captures the excitement of the missions of this famous starship, with its rotating cast of characters. Kids will recognize some familiar faces in Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Lando Calrissian. But it goes much further than the movies, with more planets and more close escapes for the starship that loves to travel the galaxy.

With two books in this collection, kids get pages of action-packed adventure. Lando’s Luck details the smuggler getting caught on the planet Hynestia, and making tough decisions. Pirate’s Price, the second installment, features the pirate Hondo Ohnaka and his plucky spirit among many misadventures on board the famous Falcon. Both books come packed with excitement communicated through medium sized text with infrequent full page illustrations. Chapters average ten to fifteen pages, with 21 and 16 chapters respectively, not including the prologue or epilogue in each one.

If you have a Star Wars fan and want to encourage them to continue reading over summer break, check out these books from your local library or get your own copies to read over and over again.
