My family has long since passed the diaper bag stage. With kids ages eight, eleven, and twelve, we no longer need to carry extra clothes, toys, and diapers everywhere we go. But I still can’t live without a versatile bag.

I bought this Sonoma Goods For Life Canvas Tote Bag from Kohl’s on a whim a couple summers back, and it has been indispensable. It works perfectly for just about everything. The canvas material makes it lightweight, and it stores or packs flat when needed. It has enough room for my regular small purse, as well as a water bottle, snacks, a couple of balls, and much more.

This soft-sided canvas bag holds everything you see here with ease.

The proportions are just right. The straps go easily over my shoulder, but I can also carry my bag by hand without it dragging the ground. The tote bag is longer than it is tall, but still offers plenty of capacity for everything I (or my kids!) need. The reinforced bottom means I don’t have to worry about where I set it down. The material covering the bottom wipes clean easily, and no dirt gets on the canvas fabric.

The outside pocket works great for keys, sunglasses, and anything else essential you want in easy reach. Inside, a zippered pocket keeps things like cash or electronics secure. Open slip pockets on the opposite side easily store hand sanitizer, lip balm, hand lotion, and first aid cream. The soft lining makes it pleasant to dig around in case you also overload your bag. And it can easily hold most of my kids’ small purchases at summer art markets and more.

You can see how everything tucks neatly inside this large capacity bag.

I can’t imagine taking a plane trip without it. It has plenty of room for me to buy gifts at the airport, as well as space for my provisions en route. It goes easily on top of my rollerboard suitcase, and fits underneath the seat in front of me on the plane. It leaves plenty of room for my feet, but gives me easy access to all my travel essentials, like water and ear buds, without having to leave my seat.

It goes to the park with us regularly, and can hold cups, small shovels, snacks, and even has room for a seat pad. You can choose from several different colors and patterns to get one that suits you and your style. If you want a bag that goes the distance and works for almost any occasion, get your own Sonoma Goods For Life Canvas Tote.
