A Top-Rated Seat That Will Last For Years

- What: Graco Nautilus Booster Seat
- When: 4 years and up
- Why: Safe, adjustable, long-lasting
- Where: Amazon
We’ve used one booster seat for more than eight years after our kids graduated from a convertible car seat. It lasted our eldest son more than four years, and our two younger children have both gotten lots of mileage out of it as well. Which seat made the grade? Graco’s Nautilus Elite 80.

We got this seat in 2016 after our son turned five and outgrew his convertible car seat based on height. We chose the Nautilus because it had the highest safety rating for a booster seat that had both a five point harness and a seat belt option. It has gone through three vehicles and multiple installations with us. The Graco Nautilus has held up remarkably well to everyday use for years.
Though our Britax Grow With Me Booster makes installation much simpler and quicker thanks to the Click Tight system, we haven’t used it as long. The Graco Nautilus makes adjustments easier once installed, though we don’t love that there’s no place on the Nautilus to store straps for the five point harness while using it as a belt-positioning booster.

We have two Graco seats, because we purchased one for each of our vehicles so many years ago. We’ve had it fit three in a row with two convertible car seats as well as in the third row or a bucket seat in a van. It has plenty of storage compartments to keep kids happy. The Nautilus makes using a belt positioner super simple, so we never worry the seat belt isn’t restraining them properly. While the heavy weight means we never travel with it (and avoid reinstalling whenever possible), it also provides superior protection.
Thankfully, we’ve never had to depend on that extra protection in an accident, but we remain grateful for the extra peace of mind should the worst happen. If you want a solid booster seat that can keep your child safely restrained for years to come, research the Graco Nautilus for your family.
