Ready, Freddy Thanksgiving Turkey Trouble Book on Amazon
Each book in this series of 27 features Freddy Thresher and his first grade class. From the school bully to his best friend, Freddy encounters lots of adventures. Each book focuses on one short aspect of life, like losing a tooth, a Halloween party, show and tell, and other big milestones in young kids’ lives.

Large text and frequent black and white illustrations make these books great for readers building their literacy skills. Each book has less than 100 pages, with fewer than ten chapters, so kids won’t get bogged down trying to finish. They also offer fun fact pages at the end, as well as other activities like words hidden in pictures throughout the book and crossword puzzles.

You can check these books out at your local library, and read them in any order. Buy them individually, get a boxed set of the first five titles, or buy nine together. No matter how many you choose at a time, kids will enjoy the big emotions and life experiences from Freddy’s perspective.
