What I Carry With Me Everywhere

- What: Eucerin’s Aquaphor ointment
- When: Ages birth and beyond
- Why: Soothes and protects skin
- Where: Amazon
I discovered Aquahor through work. My employers asked me to stock up on it before a winter ski trip. They used it on a tender baby cheeks to prevent wind or cold chapping. After that introduction, I’ve been using it on almost every skin ailment, not only for my infants and kids, but also for myself.
I love it so much I carry a tiny tube in my bag with me everywhere. In a pinch, I use it for chapstick, but I’ve also used it on the go to prevent blisters from forming. At home, it’s our go-to goo for solving all sorts of everyday hurts. My kids ask for it for bumps, bruises, and even hang nails. I haven’t had the heart to tell them it doesn’t help anything but skin.
If, like my husband, you refuse to touch sticky salves, Aquaphor also comes in a tube with an applicator attached.
The only caveat for Aquaphor? While it works great on diaper rash, it does not play well with cloth diapers. The oils don’t come out in the washing machine, so repeated use will hinder the absorbency of your cloth diapers.
