Did you know the popular Mozart Magic Cube has a new design? I’ve loved this toy for at least ten years, and it has looked identical that entire time.I wouldn’t be able to tell one from ten years ago from a brand new one, until now. I don’t know when they got around to changing it, and I’m not sure if I’m sad or delighted or both.

Either way, I love the toy, and so does every kid I’ve ever seen play with it. It used to be a cube, but now sports a rounder design with the same six sides. It features eight Mozart tunes you will probably recognize, even if you don’t know Mozart from Mendelssohn. Each of the six sides of the shape features a different color and instrument. When you or your little one push on the large button, the music either subtracts or adds that instrument to the mix. You can choose from orchestra, flute, violin, piano, harp, and French horn.

Our older cubic design of the same toy. You can see it shows zero wear and tear and I’ve never changed the batteries in it.

It comes with two volume levels, but most importantly, it has an on/off switch so you can control how long the tunes last. I don’t know if it will make your baby any smarter, but at least it won’t make you any crazier.
