If you want a taller hoop for your little one to score, check out the Little Tikes Adjust and Jam Basketball Set. It comes with the great features of the Little Tikes EasyScore Basketball Set, but with a much higher hoop.
It offers the same adjustability, but this time from four feet to six feet high. It only comes with one basketball, but finding more balls in our household never poses a problem, unlike keeping up with them all. The weighted base can be filled with sand to offer more stability. I’ve only used water in ours, because I can’t contemplate the effort required to get the sand back out should I ever want it to move more than a few feet. Unlike the shorter set, it has a breakaway rim, which means the net folds down. While that helps store it more compactly in the offseason, it also means it will come down easily when playing.
We have an older black and yellow model from Little Tikes, which has held up to at least five kids without any serious issues. Our net will no longer stay up without help, but that’s a small price to pay for the longevity of this toy, which has been used by my two year old but still adjusts high enough to challenge my seven year old. This hoop uses a smaller sized ball, though, so if you want a full size net, don’t buy this one.
Step2 makes a very similar adjustable basketball hoop. If you have a brand preference, or want to cost compare in the moment, you can check out their Step2 Shootin’ Hoops Pro Basketball Set. I’ve had zero experience with theirs so I can’t say how it performs, but our Little Tikes has held up to our use no problem. And the ones at the tot gym, which get a lot more action, come from Little Tikes, too.
If you get the Little Tikes big hoop, it should last for all your kids, and you can probably pass it along or sell it when you finish with it, too.
