Pull up and pillow and get ready for a ride! The Boxcar Children will transport you on their adventure. Ride along as this group of four orphaned siblings solve mysteries and discover much more in this classic series of chapter books for kids.
The series follows the Alden children, Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny. With over 150 mysteries to choose from, your kids will lose interest long before they run out of books. The original author. Gertrude Chandler Warner, wrote the first 19 books starting in 1942. Those proved so popular that more than 130 additional mysteries have since been added to the series. Geared towards kids ages 6-10 and in grades 1-5, the series offers plenty of adventure and excitement. My three year old loved listening to the stories along with his older siblings, and they all clamored for more at the end of every book.

My kids got into chapter books because of the Boxcar Children. Even though none of them could read yet, and the books had fewer illustrations than some other series, like Magic Treehouse, they loved the stories and characters and couldn’t wait to hear more.

Start with the first in the series, The Boxcar Children, or grab any one of the additional books to find out just how much kids love these mysteries. Once you know they love them, you can get boxed sets of four titles
or more for your growing fans.
