I love our construction plate and utensils set from Constructive Eating, since two of my kids adore construction and I can use all the help I can get shoveling food into them. It delighted me no end to learn the same company had expanded into a garden fairy set, with a bright purple color scheme. Now they also feature a vivid green Dinosaur Plate with Utensil Set for any preschooler with a prehistoric fixation.

These sets come in durable, dishwasher safe plastic kids can put in their mouths. It lasts well beyond one kid. Even the letters don’t come off over time. The sections allow picky eaters to keep different foods from touching each other, while the thick handles make it easy for little hands to grip. Kids can practice feeding themselves with the specially designed pusher which helps guide food onto the spoon and fork, and each utensil has a unique configured parking place on the plate. You can buy the plate and utensils separately, or together as a set.

I would prefer the plates to stack nicely together, but that’s my only gripe about this sturdy set. My almost five year old still loves to use the utensils, and I got another set of utensils to stop my kids arguing over who gets to use them. I passed the plate along to a family with only one child to cut down on the bickering, and because I never thought their interest would last this long. But if you want a great set for kids beginning to feed themselves, or a wonderful gift for any kid who loves dinosaurs, you can’t go wrong with Constructive Eating’s latest offering.
