Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle children's chapter book by Better MacDonald with red cover

Mrs. Piggle-Wiggles gets up to all sorts of antics with children.

These books have large text and multiple chapters. Each chapter deals with a different issue present in a child living nearby. The longer chapters work well for intermediate readers ready to move up from books with more frequent illustrations, without the amount of text becoming overwhelming. These books also have black and white illustrations sprinkled throughout the book, typically with one smaller one at the beginning of each chapter and a full page cartoon towards the end of each chapter.
