Whip up this simple yet pleasing treat.

You can cut up the strawberries or leave them whole, whatever suits your design better. Then add whipped cream for accents. We used a can of whipped cream, because after six months at home together, I’ve had enough extra house work and didn’t feel like whipping up a batch. You can also use frozen Cool Whip as an option, too. For a healthier alternative, yogurt works well as a dip.

We have Mickey Mouse shaped plates, so we made a smile and nose out of strawberry slices. Then we added dots of whipped cream for eyes and outlined the round semicircle ear shapes in whipped cream as well. All three of our kids gobbled up every last bite. But you don’t need any fancy kind of plate to make this simple snack. You can use a basic round plate and make a smiley face. You can also add or substitute other kinds of berries, like blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries. Even other types of fruit, like bananas, mangoes, or plums, work well. And what kid doesn’t love to dip their food?

Use this snazzy snack to get kids to try new fruits, celebrate small achievements, or simply to brighten an otherwise mundane day. No matter when you decide to delight them, kids will enjoy this simple yet tasty treat.
