These white LEGO boxes come at the bargain basement prices of $10-15. The largest box measures 13.75 inches by 10 inches by 4.5 inches. The medium box rings in at 10 inches long by 6 ⅞ inches wide by 4.5 inches tall. The set includes three smaller boxes, two tiny boxes (measuring 5 inches long by 3.5 inches wide by 2.5 inches tall), and one small box (measuring 7 inches by 5 inches by 2.5 inches). Each of the boxes, regardless of size, includes a removable lid covered in LEGO studs, allowing kids to attach bricks. All the boxes also have a tiny indentation in each side with a few studs along the bottom edge, so kids can build or attach figures on the outside as well as the top.

I’d seen the LEGO storage boxes at IKEA online, but hadn’t encountered them in person until recently. They are much smaller in person than I thought. If you have a single LEGO set, not all the pieces will fit in these boxes. That being said, all three of my kids love them, and use them to store cherished LEGO pieces and characters, as well as play on the textured lids.

The boxes can also stack and attach to each other to build bigger creations. Think LEGO base plates, but with walls and roofs, too. While these boxes won’t store anywhere near enough for a true aficionado, they make a great surface to take LEGO on the go, or play in small spaces.

If you have a kid who loves LEGO, and want new and interesting containers to spark even more play, give Bygglek a whirl.
