Each day we highlight one item we used extensively during our trip, from entertainment to necessities like food and water. Our three kids, at ages 11, 9, and 7, now pack their own travel entertainment bags and their clothes as well. Some items, therefore, were chosen entirely by the kids, while some we packed to make our lives easier.
One of the few items that made the cut with our kids for onboard entertainment, Melissa & Doug Activity Sticker Books pack a lot of fun into a few pages. Our daughter chose her horse-themed sticker activity book for our two week journey. She added it to her carry on bag as backup entertainment. Thanks to her MP3 player, seat back entertainment, and books, she didn’t need it on board any flights or even in the airport.

She did, however, play with it repeatedly once we arrived. The multiple pages let her move the reusable stickers around as she pleased, and create lots of different scenes. All the stickers fit easily into the spiral bound activity book, and she packed it for our road trips as well. I failed to get any photos of it in action, mostly because she used it by herself to stay entertained.
While she’s the only child in our family with one of these activity books, they come in a wide variety of themes to suit a lot of different interests. You could easily get one for each child. They make a great quiet activity at home or on the go. And the sturdy pages work great even without a hard surface like a folding travel desk to use.
