This small tabletop version of pinball works well for kids. Their hands have no trouble reaching the buttons on either side to control the flippers and launch the ball. They can see all the action without needing a step stool or a lift. And they love it. All three of our kids, ages 12, 10, and 8, find themselves drawn to this quick game over and over again.

With vibrating bumpers and flashing lights, It does make a lot of noise, though not as much as the bigger machines found in actual arcades. The electronic scoreboard runs off batteries, which come included so kids can play right out of the box. On the plus side, you can launch one of the six balls and control the flippers without turning on all the lights, sounds, and action. At the top of the board, next to the power switch, you can also find a button to reset the score.

Kids can play by themselves or take turns seeing who can get the highest score. Adults can join the fun as well. The entire thing measures 16 inches (40 cm) long and has the tilted board common among pinball machines. The highest end stands about half a foot (15 cm) off the surface it rests on, with the lower end not even three inches (7 cm) tall. The smaller size means it can be tucked out of the way when not in use, which at our house, is never.
If you want a quick game that kids will love to play over and over again, let them loose with their own Pinball Game.
